The Talty City Council has appointed Lyle Wallace, pastor of Talty Baptist Church, police department chaplain.  In recognition, Police Chief Delawrence Gilbert presented Wallace with a badge and uniform before his congregation.

According to Mayor Frank Garrison, many police departments appreciate having clergy trained and available to assist those affected by the wide range of difficult law enforcement situations in which such a trained counselor can provide comfort.
